The Continuum of Cool
Many think that coolness follows a linear path. In this flawed, Cartesian model, hipness is at one extreme, and geekiness is at the other. But anyone who is geeky enough to be cool knows that the hip-o-meter is more like a clock than a ruler. For those who are truly cool are often perceived as being distinctly uncool by those not hep to the jive. Indeed, those not hep to the jive would likely take issue with and condescendingly mock the very phrase, "Hep to the jive". It is at the very stroke of midnight on the aforementioned clock--in the netherworld betwixt the untra-hip and the pathetically lame . . . this is where and when SHEETROCK JACKAL conducts its murky, mysterious, and possibly pointless business. The webmaster (Right) shown here at Sound Waves studios here in lovely and scenic Oakland, with work mates Rocky Reyes (Center) & Sam Sheats (Left). Together, they comprise the off-the-radar, art-noise/drinking collective, Sheatrock Jackal.

Rocky took most of these pictures, so you have to kind of use your imagination. At work, he and I are often mistaken for one another, so that helps. He's the blurry guy in the middle, with the silver Stratocaster. Click on any of these pix to go to Rocky's page.

A very good picuture of the back of Rocky's head.

Who's this jackass?

Oh, it's a Sheetrock Jackass. Notice the quality sheetrock in the background.

Sam, the Hammer of Thor. This guy can really rock. It's ridiculous.

Five strings, five fingers. Coincidence? I think not.
